Essaouira

Morocco

About the trip

The colorful Morocco is a destination that everyone must discover and experience. From the imperial city of Marrakech and the breathtaking beauty of the Atlas Mountains to the pearl of the Atlantic Ocean known as Essaouira, which unites the enthusiasts of kiteboarding and waves. At every step, you feel the authenticity of this land, the warmth of the locals, while the nature and diversity of this region will stun each and everyone.

The imperial Marrakech greets you with bustling energy and a somewhat unusual pace of life, yet all of this contributes to the undeniable uniqueness of this cultural melting pot. Here, traditions spanning millennia intertwine with modernity, while the abundance of colors and oriental scents effortlessly captivates. Even a short visit is enough to feel the diversity and uniqueness of Morocco.

The Atlas Mountains provide a different hue to Morocco. Here, one can marvel at extraordinary panoramic views, snow-capped peaks, lush green landscapes, mountain streams, and an environment completely detached from civilization. The Berber tribes residing in the mountains warmly welcome hikers and help them experience the essence of life in the mountains. Getting to know them, visiting villages that seem to transcend time, and understanding their traditions are among the most unique experiences in Morocco.

From the mountains directly to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean where the magical resort town of Essaouira lies, also known as the City of Wind. With its strong winds and well-maintained wide coastline, this place is a true find for kitesurfing enthusiasts. Here, the hustle and bustle are replaced by the sound of the waves, the leisurely local pace and the tranquility in the air that clears the mind.

Surf, Kite, Repeat

Stretching as far as the eye can see – sandy beaches, no rocks or stones – this is how the coast of Morocco looks. It’s a perfect winter destination, offering sun, good wind, and good weather. The waves here are also among the best in the world, which is why Morocco is particularly favored by wave riders. The wind blows practically year-round, making the conditions ideal for both beginners and advanced riders, supported by experienced instructors. Downwind rides and sunsets are some of the most unforgettable experiences.

Different experiences

The first time in WindTrain travel history, a mountain trip is combined with kiteboarding. Two completely unique experiences that will provide unforgettable memories. Exploring the Atlas Mountains will be guided by a local guide who will not only introduce the life of local tribes but also show unique places like the town of Ait Benhaddou, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and has been the setting for several movie scenes. From the mountains, the journey continues straight Essaouira, a town washed by the Atlantic waves. The beaches of this resort, marked with the blue flag, hint at the well-maintained coastline, while the water quality delights even the most discerning travelers. Additionally, in local restaurants situated in the nearby fish market, you can taste exceptionally fresh fish just caught from the sea.
